Monocoque city bike van Mike Burrows
Een klein citaat uit het boek van Mike:
From Amsterdam to Cambridge
'Amsterdam' evolved into 'Cambridge'. This was built from aluminium tube and castings, and had the multi-sprocket transmission completely encased in the frame. This was built to sell the idea to Giant of a purpose-built city bike. It has now reached 'Paris', witch is moulded in one piece from glass-reinforced plastic, and has what I describe as an 'internal direct transmission system'. Currently it is being used for a comprehensive market survey. Assuming that everyone likes it, and that we can find a cost-effective way of moulding the frame, it should be in production one day.
